Kelli, my name is Paul and i have a wife named Brittni. We live in Huntsville, AL. She is also pregnant and we have been going through sort of the same stuff you have been goin through. I think we actually have the same High Risk doctor in Bham that we have been seeing. We took a trip to Cincinnati when she was 16 weeks along and had tests and everything done. They told us to go ahead with shunts and since then we have had 2 shunts put in him, one which lasted only a couple days and another which lasted a week and a half. But somehow the release of pressure has at least partially opened up something inside him and some urine is escaping into the amniotic fluid around him now which is a blessing. But this past weekend we took another trip to Cincinnati and met with them again because we were hoping surgery was going to be an option and that we could have a more "permanent" fix done. However because of a complication that has arose while putting in the shunts, they have said it is too risky now for those surgical options. I guess the good news is that now he has fluid around him. But now we have to watch as his bladder continues to fill and now his kidneys start to go bad, which up until this point they had actually looked fairly normal. I guess i write all this to say that we know what you are going through, and Dr. G and his staff actually mentioned they had seen another couple with our problem about a week and half ago when we went in, and by chance I was told about this blog today. But we wanted to let you know that we are praying for you and if ya ever needed to talk or bounce questions off of us feel free! my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I pray that you get good news while in Cincy and that all goes well! God Bless!
